질병과 재난 등 신체적 고통과 심리적 불안 등 내적, 외적요인에 의해 고요한 일상이 요동치는 상황들은 언제든지 불현듯 닥칠 수 있는 삶의 변수이다.
‘Viruscape’(바이러스케이프)는 바이러스를 소재로 하여 삶과 죽음에 대한 사유, 현대 사회의 복잡하고 부조리한 삶의 풍경을 은유적으로 표현한다.
바이러스는 인간에게는 불결하고 치명적인 존재이지만, 그들만의 질서와 규칙을 가지고 그 자체로 아름다운 세계를 구성하고 있다. 현실에서 외면하고 싶은 상황들, 또는 삶의 이면에 숨겨진 부조리 등을 화려한 색으로 위장한 바이러스 표면으로 덮어버린다. 삶은 결국 착각이며, 허상일 수 있다는 것을 나타낸다.
‘에볼라, 메르스, 지카 바이러스’와 같은 사회적 이슈와 연결된 근작들은 주변의 삶을 보다 구체적으로 관찰하는 작업이다. 현미경을 통해 확대된 바이러스 이미지를 반복적으로 배열하고 재조합하여 새로운 패턴을 제작했다. 신체 내부로 침투되기 전까지는 단지 추상적 이미지에 불과한 바이러스 패턴들을 통해서 인간의 불안정하고 불확실한 삶을 모습을 투영한다.
헌 문이나 창문은 피부의 공간 확장이며. 외부환경과 자기방어의 갈등상황이 일어나는 경계이다.  균열된 듯한 일상을 봉합하고 치유하는 의미로 노란테이프, 천사 이미지 등이 등장한다.‌

‌Physical distress like disease, disaster and mental anxiety, the situation which shake everyday calmness is a variable that can suddenly appear on any circumstances.
Viruscape (virus+scape) express the reason of life and death, the landscape of complex and absurd modern society by the use of virus as metaphor of description.
Virus, though unclean and fatal being for humanity, they compose a beautiful world under their own order and rule. Situations that wish to be ignored, the absurdities hidden in the other aspect of life are easily covered by colorful surface of virus. It means, eventually life can be delusion and illusion.
The latest works are observing life in more detailed manner which related to social issues like Ebola, MERS and Zika virus syndrome. The works undergoes making new pattern which arrayed and redistributed by the image obtained from microscope. The abstract image of virus project unstable and uncertain images of human life until it penetrated into human body.
The old door and window are the extension of space from skin, and it describe the conflict between external circumstance and self-defenses. Yellow tape and image of angel are appeared as the meaning of surgical suture and curing of everyday life.‌
